A few months ago I posted the bar area in our house's remodel. Since then I found some fabulous wallpaper to hang in there to make it fun and modern. Special thanks to Erica Hilton (918) 366-3577 who used her professional skills to hang it for me. This foil paper was extra thick and difficult to hang but she pulled it off! Hope you like it! Love to hear your comments.

This class is designed to prepare them for success by emphasizing social skills, etiquette, leadership, table manners and dance. They meet every Sunday for 5 weeks and celebrate with a 5 course meal and dance at Southern Hills Country Club. ETIQUETTE TIP: When someone thanks you, the courteous and polite response is, "You're welcome." This implies that it was a pleasure for you to help the person and that you receive their appreciation. The laid-back phrase, "No problem," falls short. It actually negates the person's appreciation and implies the situation could have been a problem under other circumstances. I've been meaning to share some of my favorite sites and wanted to invite you to visit Albert Mohler. I listen to his podcast, The Briefing, daily and can't say enough good things about his insight from a Christian Worldview. He provides commentary on a number of subjects which you can see listed on the left side of the home page. Have a great week and I hope 2014 is going well for everyone.
Well, life is busy in the Jansen household. Beau has games Monday's and Thursday and Jack plays every Saturday. This past weekend Jenks Mustangs (Jack's team) played their friends the Jenks Air. It was a tough battle but they lost by 1pt after a kid shot a 3pt shot with 3 seconds left in the game. It was a huge disappointment for the boys but they played great! We hope to play this team again in the finals. It was a beautiful weekend and we had lots of boys over to play even more basketball. I'm laughing that I chose to cheer for wrestling in high school instead of basketball. If I had known I would have a bunch of ballers in the house, I would have paid attention to basketball a little more! I've learned a lot since retiring as a USAF pilot and venturing into insurance and despite what you may think of insurance companies or agents like myself, there is a deep understanding in this industry of risk and the role finance plays in managing that risk. Visit this link for a 1 minute perspective from a leading CEO. I plan to watch the film they are showing at Universities as well. My oldest (Son) is doing some school research and came across this. amazing how true this is today…. Thomas Jefferson "I place economy among the first and most important virtues and public debt as the greatest of dangers to be feared. To preserve our independence, we must not let our rulers load us with public debt. We must make our choice between economy and liberty or confusion and servitude. If we run into such debts, we must be taxed in our meat and drink, in our necessities and comforts, in our labor and in our amusements. If we can prevent the government from wasting the labor of the people, under the pretense of 'caring for them,' they will be happy." Spent Friday and Saturday at The Coves, Grand Lake, attending Kirk Elder retreat. Offsite retreats are always productive to assess and plan. Enjoyed Sunday with family worshipping at The Kirk, then spent the afternoon at Tulsa Boys Home. Finally, wrapped up with a trout dinner celebrating my father in law's birthday. Hope the rest of 2014 goes as well as it has started!! New Years Eve is my mother's birthday. We brought in the new year with much excitement. My sister and I planned a surprise party at her house with over 65 people in attendance. Pictured on the right is Dr. Shamsuddin from Maryland. He is the doctor who patented the IP6 + Inositol supplement my mother takes and credits with much of her success of beating cancer. He flew in to surprise her for her birthday and she was shocked to say the least. We are so fortunate to have Mom alive and healthy to celebrate her birthday after her recovery from breast cancer. Thank you Dr. Shamsuddin for all your research and your kind heart! While we were setting up we got a phone call that her scan was clean from the most recent tests. Praise God!
