In the midst of my prayers for more family time, God provided with many snow days. Be careful what you ask for. We are a little crazy with cabin fever and I can't wait till Spring. Hope you are preparing your hearts for Easter Sunday and recalling the days leading up to Jesus death and resurrection.
Family time is a little hard to come by with the beginning of track season, start of soccer and basketball is still going on for Jack. I am ready for this season of life to slow down...will it ever? We are excited about the game this Saturday. Jenks Mustangs (Jack's team) play Jenks Air for the Championship game for INBC (Indian Nations Basketball Conference) It is remarkable that two Jenks teams are playing for the championships. This 7th grade class is full of amazing athletes.

Click here to see how an unfortunate fire will be keeping many boat owners off the lake this summer!! Never think "it won't happen to me"!! Insurance is often more valuable and affordable than you may think.
A few months ago I posted the bar area in our house's remodel. Since then I found some fabulous wallpaper to hang in there to make it fun and modern. Special thanks to Erica Hilton (918) 366-3577 who used her professional skills to hang it for me. This foil paper was extra thick and difficult to hang but she pulled it off! Hope you like it! Love to hear your comments.

Although I like to have him all for myself I have to share this handsome man with my little girl, Julie! She brought home a flyer yesterday for a father-daughter dance and she is so excited to go with her daddy! Happy Valentine's Day! In my day you decorated a sack in grade school and people put Valentines in your sack. At best they attached a piece of candy. These days you make a Valentine's Day Box to hold all the Valentines and you decorate them at home. This is Julie's box, a minion from Despicable Me. The Valentines have become quite elaborate too. I hope everyone has a wonderful Valentine's Day and remember "The three most important things to have are faith, hope and love. But the greatest of them is love." 1 Cor. 13:13 As 7th graders at Jenks our boys have participated in Cotillion. This class is designed to prepare them for success by emphasizing social skills, etiquette, leadership, table manners and dance. They meet every Sunday for 5 weeks and celebrate with a 5 course meal and dance at Southern Hills Country Club. ETIQUETTE TIP: When someone thanks you, the courteous and polite response is, "You're welcome." This implies that it was a pleasure for you to help the person and that you receive their appreciation. The laid-back phrase, "No problem," falls short. It actually negates the person's appreciation and implies the situation could have been a problem under other circumstances. I've been meaning to share some of my favorite sites and wanted to invite you to visit Albert Mohler. I listen to his podcast, The Briefing, daily and can't say enough good things about his insight from a Christian Worldview. He provides commentary on a number of subjects which you can see listed on the left side of the home page. Have a great week and I hope 2014 is going well for everyone.
Ingredients
1 egg 1 can (10-1/2 ounces) condensed French onion soup, undiluted, divided 1/2 cup dry bread crumbs 1/4 teaspoon salt Pinch pepper 1-1/2 pounds ground beef 1/4 cup water 1/4 cup ketchup 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce 1/2 teaspoon prepared mustard 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour 2 tablespoons cold water 6 cups hot cooked egg noodles Chopped fresh parsley, optional Directions In a large bowl, beat egg. Stir in 1/3 cup of soup, bread crumbs, salt and pepper. Crumble beef over mixture and mix well. Shape into six oval patties. In a large skillet, brown patties over medium heat for 3-4 minutes on each side or until a meat thermometer reads 160° and juices run clear. Remove and set aside; drain. Add the water, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, mustard and remaining soup to skillet. Bring to a boil. Return patties to the skillet. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 15 minutes or until heated through. Combine flour and cold water until smooth. Stir into pan. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. Serve patties and gravy with noodles. Garnish with parsley if desired. Yield: 6 servings. 2 Pie Crusts - 1 pkg 2 cups milk 8 eggs 1 tsp dry mustard ¼ tsp pepper 2 cups cubed cooked ham 2-3 cup shredded cheddar cheese 2 cups broccoli chunks ( I use frozen and cut them up) 2 tsp chopped onion Spray bottom of 9 x 13 pan or use two pie pans. Place crust in pan overlapping one another. Sprinkle with ham, onion, broccoli then the cheese. Whisk the eggs and milk together with mustard, salt and pepper. Bake 350 for 1 hr. RECIPE TIP: I cover it for the first 45 minutes so the crust doesn't burn. |
